Oregon State beat Arkansas in the third game of the 2018 College World Series 5-0 thanks to the outstanding pitching of Kevin Abel to capture their 3rd CWS title (2006, 2007). The freshman right-hander Abel threw 129 pitches and only allowed 2 hits, while throwing 10 strike-outs. Catcher Adley Rutschman played just as big of a role, winning the CWS Most Outstanding Player award and setting the single-CWS record for hits at 17. Rutschman batted a .567 and added 3 hits during this final game. Oregon State became just the second team in CWS history to win the title after losing game 1, which Arkansas won 4-1. The Beavers won game 2 5-3.
