The Minnesota Golden Gophers won their first NCAA tournament game in six years against the Louisville Cardinals. The 10th-seed Gophers took down the Cardinals in the opening round of the East Region. Jordan Murphy and Amir Coffey each scored 18 points for the Gophers. Kalscheur scored a layup in the second half which gave Minnesota it's first double-digit lead of 43 to 33. The Cardinals tried to slow down the Gophers with a full-court press, which left Kalscheur open to make 2 3s, giving Minnesota a 59-43 lead. Minnesota will go on to face the Michigan State-Bradley winner in the Round of 32.
